Finding the right outfit is such a fun part of the wedding planning process—it’s truly a favourite for all of us here at Alicia Keats Wedding & Events. When it comes to time to buy a wedding dress in Vancouver, our brides are truly spoiled for choice. From cozy local boutiques to larger brands that have come from across the border, there’s a wedding dress (or two) to match every style.
If you’re just getting started in your search, you may not know where to start—and that’s ok! To give you some inspiration, we’ve put together a guide of some of our favourite wedding dress stores in Vancouver and its surroundings. Have a look.
Where to buy a wedding dress in Vancouver
Union Bridal
Union Bridal is a small boutique store in Gastown that caters to the “carefree, stylish, and non-traditional brand”. Their collection ranges from simple elegance to bohemian, with a lot in between, and it features a number of independent designers from around the world.
TEMPÊTE
TEMPÊTE is a modern Vancouver-based bridal shop that features collections carefully curated to give customers the chance to express their individuality. They have a mission to introduce sustainability into the bridal industry, and they also provide easy-to-combine pieces so brides can create unique outfits.
Rituals of Love Bridal
Also nestled in Gastown, Rituals of Love Bridal is a boutique wedding dress shop that’s dedicated to celebrating love with sophisticated gowns. This store is an experience in itself, the brick walls and hardwood floors are brought to life with lots of natural light and iconic pieces of furniture.
Everly Bridal
Do you consider yourself a modern bride? If so, Everly Bridal might be the right choice for you. Based in Yaletown, this store has a hand-picked selection of dresses from indie designers that always take our breath away.
Park and Fifth
The Railtown neighbourhood may be small, but it has a handful of gems—we’re thinking restaurants and boutique stores—that really warrant a visit. Park and Fifth is one of those gems. Taking a more casual approach to wedding dresses, this store will help you stand out with simplicity and elegance.
Bisou Bridal
On the corner of Olympic Village and Fairview lies a little slice of bridal heaven. Bisou Bridal has been around since 2004 and is a staple in the wedding dress scene. Led by Colleen Karavidas, each year the team at Bisou curates an exclusive collection of gowns from some of the biggest names in the business.
Isabelle’s Bridal
Cross over to the north shore and you’ll find Isabelle’s Bridal. With over 15 years of experience in North Vancouver, this team has built a reputation for creating a diverse collection of beautiful dresses and working with their brides to find the perfect outfit.
David’s Bridal
A household name in the wedding industry, David’s Bridal in Langley has an amazing variety of dresses for brides with any style.
Lovenote Bridal
At Lovenote Bride’s Vancouver location, there’s a beautiful little nook filled with delicate, stunning dresses that epitomize the West Coast bride. Sparkles, lace, smooth ivory fabrics—they have it all!
The Bridal Gallery
New Westminster is a hub for wedding dress stores—and The Bridal Gallery is one of our favourites. Beyond over 30 years of experience, the store is also the largest wedding apparel retailer in the country! It’s also filled to the brim with beautiful gowns!
Lisa’s Bridal
Just a few steps down the road you’ll find Lisa’s Bridal. As their brides will tell you, this team is dedicated to doing the best for their clients, sharing their years of knowledge and providing helpful advice.
Manuel Mendoza
Our favourite downtown spot for wedding dresses is Manuel Mendoza. Working really closely with their brides, they craft custom bridal gowns that speak to timeless sophistication, elegance, and luxury. We fall in love with their work every time.
O M Couture
Want to see something special? Check out O M Couture’s Whimsical Light collection. These dresses are filled with lace and fairy magic—a testament to their designer, Ou Ma—and we can’t wait to see the next season of brides that will wear them.
Jason Matlo
The Matlo Atelier lives in the heart of the Gastown bridal district. Matlo brides wear one-of-a-kind couture garments that steal the show at any wedding. What else could you ask for?
Kathryn Bass
On the north end of South Granville, you’ll come across the beautiful spot that is Kathryn Bass Bridal. Their 2021 bespoke collection is filled with bold, statement-making pieces with nods to different historical eras. Spoiler: there’s a poofy gown with black tulle and florals!
As you start setting up your appointments, please keep in mind that each store is operating with its own set of COVID-19 guidelines that may impact how many people you can bring with you.
Clara Couture
Clara Couture Bridal has a vast collection of dresses from various designers. You really can’t go wrong when you choose a dress from them. They also support brides with on-site tailoring and alteration services to make sure your dress fits you like a glove.
Joanna Delaney
Our Kitsilano rep in this list is Joanna Delaney. As the founder and couturiere at the store, Joanna is clearly influenced by Vancouver brides and their individual styles. Her unique perspective is changing the face of bridal fashion and we’re so here for it.
Pure Magnolia
Last but definitely not least, Pure Magnolia is a bridal icon on the north shore—and it carries sustainability at the core of its ethos. The current collection is all about simplicity, emphasized with bold statements like flowy arm band sleeves and a top and skirt combo.
Our team loves working with couples to create the perfect wedding day—and that includes pointing them in the direction of the perfect outfit. Get in touch to see how else we can help!
xoxo,
Alicia
