When I think back on this wedding, the thing that comes to mind is that the whole wedding was planned via Skype… and that I met Barbara and Andrew for the first time, three days before their wedding! As this was a destination wedding based in Vancouver, we were dealing with 8-hour time differences, as well as finding time to plan the wedding in Barbara and Andrew’s busy lives. Both of them did a lot of travel for work.
Barbara and Andrew had been living in the UK for a while, so they wanted their wedding to incorporate their memories and experiences in London. Their décor was inspired by Sketch bar in London, a quirky and playful space, and the couple wanted to create a very similar look – an enchanted forest feel without exceeding their budget. Wedding Design Studio and Granville Island florist did an outstanding job bringing the look together for them.
The photographer was also from abroad, and he flew in just a few days before the wedding. We worked with him so he quickly got to know Vancouver’s most beautiful, picturesque locations so he could create a beautiful shoot for the couple.
My most favorite thing about working with Barbara and Andrew was how affectionate they are with each other. It was clear that they had a deep love for each other, which was beautiful to see. Andrew absolutely adores Barbara, which I could see the moment I met them by the way he looked at her, or gently touched her hair, or put his arm around her. In a similar vein, I could clearly see the respect that Barbara has for Andrew.
We were delighted to help Barbara and Andrew plan their dream, Sketch-inspired wedding, and we wish them a wonderful married life and future together!
