I met Corinna years ago, before she was even engaged. We would chat about my job, what I think makes a beautiful wedding, what she was dreaming of for her wedding and as we were chatting, I would always say to myself, I really hope I can be a part of Corinna’s wedding one day. So you can imagine how excited I was when Corinna reached out to me and said that she was starting to plan her wedding and could I be a part of it. I was ecstatic!
Corinna and Mike wanted an understated West Coast wedding, filled with natural elements and personal touches, great food and most importantly, they wanted to make sure that it was a really good time for their friends and family.
The wedding ceremony took place on the newly renovated patio at Shaughnessy Restaurant in Van Dusen Gardens. The weather could not have been better for a late September wedding as you can see by the magic light ShoeBox Photograhy captured after the ceremony was over. The aisle was lined with garlands of laurel leaves and Posy created two stunning arrangements in birch bark vases for the top of the aisle. The reception was inside the restaurant, with understated touches of rosemary sprigs on each place setting and more beautiful West Coast inspired arrangements by Posy. Hilarious and touching speeches followed throughout dinner. Corinna and Mike opted to cut the pie instead of a wedding cake which was lovingly made by a family member for them. And then it was time to dance and drink the night away. As I watched Corinne and Mike on the dance floor surrounded by their loved ones, I couldn’t help but smile and feel giddy to be able to have been a part of their day after so many years of wishing that I would be.
With love,
Alicia xoxo
