This wedding was planned long distance over different time zones and hectic travel schedules as my couple was very busy in the months leading up to their wedding. Hosted at The Vancouver Club, Karmen + Terrence’s wedding fully encapsulated the feeling of Spring. By using a palette of pink and white with touches of gold, we created an air of lightness while harnessing the sentiment of Springtime with its excitement and anticipation of something new on the horizon.

The day began with a tea ceremony which was held in the Georgian Room of the Vancouver Club. Karmen wore a stylish floor-length red Cheongsam that was embroidered with an intricate floral pattern. The tea ceremony was set up with two gold chivari chairs and three arrangements of red roses set amongst a plethora of pillar candles on the mantel of the fireplace.

After the tea ceremony, the civil ceremony commenced in the foyer of the Club. Escorted through a set of white curtains gracefully tied back, guests were seated in ‘silhouette’ chairs that lined the aisle. Setting the stage for this elegant ceremony, two dramatic cascading floral arrangements by Granville Island Florist framed where Karmen + Terrence would say ‘I Do.’

Following the ceremony, guests were moved into the Bar and Grill for cocktail hour. Set with cocktail tables with white flowing linen, arrangements of pink and white roses, and tealight candles, guests were serenaded by a string duo from Musical Occasions as they enjoyed passed canapes and martinis.

The dinner portion of the evening was held in the main ballroom of the Vancouver Club. Framed by a cream-coloured backdrop tied back with garlands of fresh flowers, the head table was set with low arrangements of simple, yet opulent, arrangements of roses. Guest were seated at round tables dressed in white linen with spectacular arrangements of roses and white orchids in tall glass vases. Hints of gold were brought in through the elaborate candle holders, gold-rimmed charger plates by Art of the Party, and ‘Louis XVI’ Chairs from Eclat Décor.  After a three-course meal and wedding cake by A Elizabeth Cakes, the guests watched a short film crafted by Vincent + Theo that showed the more intimate side of Karmen + Terrence’s special day from getting ready in the morning and the first look to the ceremony.

During dinner, the Bar and Grill was reset with lounge furniture, an air hockey table, and a photobooth. Illuminated by sparklers, the couple’s first dance kicked off the party for the rest of the evening. Overall, Karmen + Terrence’s wedding was one to remember and truly an elegant evening to celebrate becoming Mr. and Mrs.
