Wedding Planning by Alicia Keats | Wedding Photography by Jonetsu Photography
I am so happy to share Jamie + Kam’s lighthearted, yet stunningly elegant Vancouver Club wedding captured by Jonetsu Photography today. This is a wedding close to my heart for so many reasons.
During our initial consultation, Jamie, Kam and I spent the entire time laughing uncontrollably, I remember driving home with my cheeks in so much pain from smiling so much in the two hour meeting. We even texted excitedly later that night saying what a great time we had both had, we were friends instantly and knew we would have a great time planning their wedding celebration.
Jamie had a vision for her wedding: most importantly she wanted it to be a reflection of her and Kam and secondly she wanted to ensure there was an element of elegance throughout the celebration. Jamie and Kam love to play board games, eat great food, spend time with their families and love hosting friends and with this in mind we got started planning! Jamie chose a new color scheme for me: yellow, grey and navy and I loved it right away. It was a perfect reflection of Jamie’s warm and bubbly personality with that element of elegance we wanted.
The day was filled with personal touches: from the flower cones at the ceremony which were made out of sheet music of their first dance, a cocktail hour scavenger hunt all over the Vancouver Club, custom table numbers with games as the name of the table. The favors which were mini board games, but some guests couldn’t wait and opened them right away and there was roars of laughter throughout dinner. There was a giant Janga to get the bride and groom to kiss, flip flops for dancing the night away, photobooth scrap book provided by Vancouver Photobooth to name a few of the personal touches.
We worked with Wedding Design Studio to create the elegant (yet playful) atmosphere for the wedding. For the ceremony they created a birch structure for Jamie and Kam to be married under and lined the aisle at the UBC Rose Garden with flowers and navy silk. For the reception, they created a custom floral center piece using Jamie’s favorite flowers and added touches of sparkle.
Guests danced the night away, appreciating the flip flops, and again, I couldn’t stop smiling.
With love,
Alicia xoxo
