Lauren and Chris really wanted the “WOW!” factor with their wedding; they wanted all their guests to have an amazing time and be talking about their wedding for years to come. I loved working with Lauren and it was so much fun planning her wedding weekend at the Fairmont Pacific Rim.

Lauren is the ultimate host and throws the best parties with the most thoughtful details and her own wedding was no exception. Dreaming up her wedding invitations was one of the many highlights for me.  She is so detailed and thoughtful and was open to creative ways of bringing her vision to life.

There are so many details that I loved from Lauren’s wedding, starting with her wedding invitations. Lauren shared with me in our first meeting that she loves giving gift baskets, she also shared with me her and Chris’ love of champagne. We talked about the invite maybe being in a box and that got my imagination going! We worked with Love by Phoebe to create Lauren’s custom wedding invitations which included a black velvet, gold embossed box, a plexi glass invitation and a mini bottle of rose Moet. I can’t tell you how hard it was to find the Moet!

The couple held a welcome party the day before their wedding, as another opportunity to be able to visit with their guests. I love welcome events, the wedding day flies by so fast and this way, our couples have more chances to spend more time with their guests. Held on the roof top terrace of the Chairman’s Suite at Pacific Rim, everyone enjoyed martinis from the bar, accompanied by mezze, risotto, and maki and nigiri sushi stations.

The wedding ceremony took place at the in the Emerald Ballroom of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in downtown Vancouver. After the ceremony, guests moved to the cocktail hour where they were offered canapés and Rosé Moet topped with cotton candy. Evan from Koncept did an amazing job of the ceremony flowers, and Loungeworks created a fantastic area for guests to chat and enjoy the Grey Goose vodka on offer.

It was really important to Lauren and Chris that they had a great party atmosphere at their wedding, as the couple love to have a good time. The couple also included lots of lovely touches showing their love for their family and friends, including he first dance which was sung by the groom’s brother, and the father-daughter dance was sung by another of the groomsmen.

After a sumptuous dinner and dancing,  the guests were surprised by a sparkler champagne parade and escorted to the after party to dance until the early morning. Guests enjoyed bottle service, a photobooth, candy table, and cupcakes by Fringe and Flourish, doughnuts and late night snacks. One of my favorite details was our washroom make-up attendants. I was watching an awards show a few months before the wedding and mentioned to Lauren how great it would be to be at a wedding and get touched up, kinda like a bathroom amenities basket (which we love) but even better. Lauren was totally on board. It was a huge hit.

Another fun detail was their wedding favors. Lauren and Chris’ favorite champagne is Ace of Spades and we knew we wanted to incorporate this somehow. Working with Madeira Candles, custom candles were created for the guests using recycled Ace of Spade bottles.

The following morning, Lauren and Chris held a “Rosé all day” party at their home, including personalized cookies by Letterpress Bakery. It was the perfect way to end the weekend.

I had so much fun writing this post and remembering how much fun I had working with Lauren. I wish we could do it again!
