Wedding Planning by Alicia Keats | Wedding Photography by Jeanie Ow.
It is hard for me to believe that nearly a year has passed since Lindsay + Andrew’s Grouse Mountain Wedding. It feels just like yesterday that we were making plans for their beautiful mountain top wedding. Lindsay, Andrew and I clicked the second we met, in fact, I think they even ended up running off late to their next meeting because we lost track of time chatting about their dreams for their wedding.
Once they were back home, Lindsay, Andrew and I started the wedding planning process using skype as they they were living in Minneapolis planning a destination wedding here in Vancouver. Part way through the wedding planning they both moved to Austria for Andrew’s work and our Skype dates continued. I still miss those meetings!
Grouse Mountain held a special place in both Lindsay and Andrew’s heart so we used it as our inspiration and settled on a theme of understated natural West Coast elegance. Nearly all of their guests would be traveling a long way to the wedding so it was very important to Lindsay and Andrew that their guests fall in love with Vancouver, the West Coast and the mountains as much as they had.
The flowers were designed by Garden Party Flowers. Spruce Collective provided handmade rustic benches and other rustic details such as the wooden log centerpieces that the flowers were placed on. I just love the cross that Jessica made for Lindsay and Andrew’s ceremony! Love by Phoebe provided all of the paper details. Lindsay knew most of her guests didn’t know much about Vancouver, so Phoebe designed a Save The Date with a hand drawn map with symbols of iconic Vancouver landmarks on it and this theme carried onto the wedding day, as you can see from the table numbers.
After the personal ceremony, a relaxed BBQ dinner, heart felt speeches, it was time for dancing, and dance they did until the very last tram ride down the mountain.
We are so pleased that their beautiful wedding captured by Studio Jeanie was featured on Style Me Pretty Canada earlier this year, you can read more about it here and also peak at their highlight video by Vincent and Theo.
Miss you so much Lindsay + Andrew!
With love,
Alicia xoxo
