As we are transitioning into winter, I wanted to celebrate a recent autumn wedding that we did that took place at Shaughnessy Restaurant. Despite the rainy weather, this wedding was brimming with warm and cozy vibes that reflected the charm of the couple—Carolyn and Aaron—and their admiration for each other and their guests.
The ceremony took place on the heated patio of the restaurant. White wood chairs were set to create a candlelit aisle that led to a copper Chuppah romantically draped with a white chiffon fabric. A garland of greens and orange-toned roses crafted by our friends at Celsia Florist hung at the Chuppah’s corner and at the base, a plethora of white pillar candles were set.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed live music by performers from Musical Occasions as the staff from Shaughnessy Restaurant passed hot apple cider and mulled wine.
Within the restaurant, the tables were set with white linen, gold-rimmed charger plates, and velvet ribbon – matching the ribbon on the bridal bouquets – were tied around each napkin adding a bit more colour to the table décor. Each table had a number of floral arrangements lined down its middle with creams, oranges, and deep burgundies. Loose greenery was set along the middle amongst the centrepieces and around plenty of pillar candles that lit the room with a warm glow.
Dinner was served shortly after guests were seating starting with a seasonal mushroom soup and interspersed with speeches. After the last course was served, Carolyn and Aaron cut into their white and gold cake made by A.Elizabeth Cakes and moved into their first dance to Taylor Swift’s “Lover.” After the first dance, parent’s dances began followed by the Horah which set the stage for the party.
It was such an honour to work alongside with Carolyn and Aaron to plan their wedding and it was an amazing way to end the Autumn season that left our hearts full.
