We are slowly catching up on sharing some of our weddings from the past few summers that we haven’t yet had a chance to share. We are so excited to share this one! Lucia and Vincent’s white wedding took place in the summer of 2017 but it feels like it was just a year ago.
In the morning of the wedding, Lucia made her way to the Vancouver Club’s sunlit Georgian Room. There, Faye Smith and her team, were ready for Lucia’s hair and makeup. Refreshments from the Club were set out so that Lucia could relax before the ceremony. After hair and makeup, Lucia got dressed in her stunning lace strapless gown and made her way down to a vintage limo where she would make her way to St. Augustine’s Church with her father.
The church was decorated by Garden Party Flowers with tall white arrangements of white hydrangea set on clear pillars surrounded in clusters of tall clear vases with white floating candles. A long white aisle runner ended at the altar where two chairs with greenery garlands were set for Lucia and Vincent. Once all of the guests were seated, the processional began with Vincent walking down the aisle with his mother and finished with Lucia and her Father walking down to ‘Prayer’ by Andrea Bocelli.
Preceding the Catholic ceremony, guests made their way to The Vancouver Club for the cocktail hour and reception. Welcomed with trays of passed Cava guests enjoyed canapes such as Mushroom Arancini while Lucia and Vincent went off in the vintage car to get their couple portraits done.
The ballroom was set with round tables dressed in white linen and gold Chiavari chairs. Slim tall floral arrangements were used at guest tables to add height while also allowing for easy conversation around the tables, something that was important to the couple. Each place setting had a white charger plate with an elegant silver filigree detail. A white napkin was folded atop the charger along with a customized menu that had Lucia and Vincent’s monogram at the top. The monogram was also used to personalize the white dance floor, welcome sign, and cocktail napkins. Instead of a traditional head table, Lucia and Vincent decided to do a Family Table at which their parents would sit with them.
The family table was set against white drapery against the far wall of the ballroom. A mirror ran the length of the table which reflected the elegant posy arrangements of white and blush roses and floating candles. The greenery garlands on the chairs at the church were moved to Lucia and Vincent’s chairs at the Vancouver Club to denote their spot at the family table.
As guests were seated in the Ballroom after the cocktail hour finished, Lucia and Vincent were introduced to Shakira’s rendition of ‘Je l’aime a mourir’ by Francis Cabrel. After the newly-weds took their seat, a three-course dinner was served complete with the VC Signature Lobster Bisque with Truffle Chantilly and Fennel Pollen. After the cake cutting, dessert was served with coffee and tea before the white curtains were pulled back to reveal Famous Players Band who would begin their set with “Your Song’ by Elton John for the first dance before getting everyone on the dance floor where they would dance away the evening!
Enjoy! Love Alicia + Kasia
