The moment I met Andra and Jordan, I knew they were going to be a joy to work with. (And I was right!) In our very first meeting, they shared that they wanted a wedding inspired by the Italian countryside. Without making the event overly themed, they wanted to introduce timeless, classically Italian elements that would make guests feel like they were spending an afternoon in a Tuscan villa.
With this concept in mind, we immediately felt that Hycroft Manor would be the perfect location for the wedding. Its corinthian columns, terracotta tiled terrace, and stunning summertime garden meant that the subtle nods to the Italian countryside were already built in.
The vision came to life fairly quickly, and Andra and Jordan made a number of really intentional choices as we came up with the design and flow for the day.
For the ceremony, we worked with Myrtle et Olive to craft a statement floral piece using the two centre columns off the terrace. Each column was adorned with what can only be described as a climbing swathe of lush greenery and roses. Together, these two pieces framed the couple as they stood together at the end of the aisle.

The flowers weren’t the only things we attached to the columns! We also created a beautiful effect with white drapes that complemented the strong columns with an ethereal feeling. We had to get inventive with how they were attached to the columns!

For the ceremony, Andra and Jordan opted for an intimate approach that really put them at the centre of everyone’s attention. They had just 60 guests in attendance on the terrace, and chose to not have a wedding party. Instead, the guests got to focus on how timeless and stylish the couple looked as they were framed by the floral arrangements and the gorgeous garden beyond.
For cocktail hour, guests were invited to descend into the garden, which was filled with delightful treats. The bar opened with classic Italian cocktails: negronis, aperol spritzes, and sparkling wine. Meanwhile, the Edge Catering team provided canapes that blended European and West Coast influences. These included arancinis, ahi tuna poke bowls, wild mushroom crepes, and a charcuterie platter.
Guests were also treated to pistachio and stracciatella gelato from Dolce Amore, which they enjoyed to a backdrop of live music from Martin at SoundStripe Music. It very much felt like a warm afternoon in the Tuscan hills.

During cocktail hour, our team transformed the terrace with a single long table that would seat all the guests. It was a lovely way to bring everyone together to celebrate the couple while they enjoyed fantastic food.
The couple had worked with Edge Catering to create an Italian inspired feast which included a burrata and heirloom salad, butternut squash ravioli, and a halibut, beef, or veggie main. For dessert, guests were treated to a lemon tart and coffee.
With just a few short speeches from parents and friends, the whole group had a wonderful time enjoying the meal and engaging in warm, fun conversations.

Because of the noise rules at Hycroft, the couple planned to close out the evening indoors. They kicked off the final portion of the evening with a heartfelt first dance under the chandelier and followed it with digestifs for guests. As they drank their limoncellos and espresso martinis, the couple’s friends and family had a warm, casual end to a beautiful summer evening.

This wedding was so much fun to plan. I enjoyed every single meeting with Andra and Jordan, and I was sad for our planning relationship to be over! I’m eager to see how they carry their thoughtfulness and intentional decision making into the rest of their lives together.
